"‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:40

Disability Inclusion

At CY we cherish everybody, regardless of difference, because they are made in God's Image (Gen 1:27). That's why we strive our best for our ministries to be an inclusive environment for youths with disabilities .

Our philosophy is to treat all youths regardless of disability as 'person', 'brother/sister' and 'friend'  rather than a "concept”, “Client” or “problem." In our community it is not "us and them," everyone is "us."

How do we do it?

  • We take our time to understand the needs of each youth, and work with parents and NDIS providers (where necessary) to provide support.
  • We accommodate teaching, discipleship and activities.
  • We provide sessions that raise awareness for disability , parents with children with disability and training for leaders and youths.

Our aim is not conformity but friendship: friendship with God and friendship with others.

We are just starting!

We make mistakes, it gets awkward and uncomfortable, but just as Paul says,
"those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable," (1 Cor 12:22) we seek to befriend those with a disability and embody the Gospel to them.

Jesus says:

"‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these

brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

We believe this with all our hearts.
