God's Plan for Relationships
God has made us for relationships, but what does God expect from them? How does he want us to relate to one another? It's tough being a teen and navigating the world of dating, when every other voice out there is telling you something different. Peers, movies, tv shows - whose voice do we listen to?
Come along to our BGR night as we seek to hear God's voice and plan for our relationships. This will be one night you wont want to miss!
When: Friday the 28th of June, 2013
Time: The usual, 7pm-9:30pm
What's gonna happen?
We'll have CY Praise with a few additional extras. ie. Skits! We all love the crazy BGR skits, and this year you wont be disappointed.
During CY Praise, we'll also hear a short talk outlining the biblical background behind relationships and marriage. Then comes the juicy bits that you've all been waiting for. We've collected and categorised your questions to help us make the night relevant to what you want, and we're going to give you a choice to attend one of three workshops.
Workshops
Each workshop will go through various topics related to the stage of thinking you may be at regarding relationships, and there'll be a bit of Q&A at the end.

Uninterested - Not Dating, Not Interested!
Who: For some of you, the thought of dating, let alone interacting with someone of the opposite sex is yuck! Totally not interested in relationships at this point in time. This is for you! What: Although you're not interested, chances are in the next few years you will be. This workshop will set you up with some general info about singleness and dating, and how to think biblically about it. Why not get our thinking in line with what God says early? |
Single - Single and Waiting
Who: So you've got a massive crush on this guy or girl, but you know you have no chance... because they're a k-pop idol. HA jokes. But really, you have the occasional crush here or there, and you're not dating... yet. You're single, and waiting - maybe of your own accord and you're waiting for the right person, or maybe it's some sort of forced waiting due to unrequited love. This workshop is for you! What: Who is 'the one'? When is the best time to date? Who should I date? What should I look for in a guy/girl? How can I glorify God in my singleness? We'll be looking at these questions and hopefully give you some godly principles to think through singleness! |
Dating - How To Not Lose Your Identity While Dating
Who: So you're dating someone and have been for the past year. Or maybe you just started last month? Or maybe you're not, but you really, really, really wish you had a boyfriend or girlfriend. Or maybe, you're just interested in what dating is and how you can be godly when you date in the future. This one is for you. What: How do we keep our relationship God centred? What are the physical boundaries in dating? What's the relationship between marriage and dating? In this workshop we'll be looking at how we can keep our identities founded in Christ when we date, rather than the other person. This workshop will be full on and probably awkward. But don't shy away, because it's so important that as Christians we do things God's way. If you are dating, or are seriously thinking about dating - we encourage you to definitely come to this workshop! |
