What is your funniest memory of CY?
This is actually my most embarrassing moment, but embarrassing and funny just go hand in hand. So at the start of the year Josh Lum Mow had encouraged the whole of CY to evangelise to our non-Christian friends. Josh made an announcement about a topical on evangelism, now I miss heard him and thought that he had said that this topical was an evangelistic topical, so I invited three friends from school to come. But on the night before the event, I walk into my older brother Josh’s room and told him about bringing my friends. He starts laughing, he goes on Facebook and shows me that the topical is on how to evangelise. It turns out to be alright though. But still Josh Lum Mow and my brother Josh still constantly tease me. Even in announcements Josh Lum Mow says “Now we have an evangelistic event and it is next term, meaning bringing friends this time to evangelise to HANNAH.” Why do you come to CY? Because loving Jesus is even more enjoyable, with awesome Christians around you. But also coming to CY, it is not a light touch on a bible passage, you dive so deep and learn some much you get headaches from thinking so hard. The leaders are one of the most encouraging things about CY, their selflessness, joy and dedication to our amazing Father is inspiring to all of us. Everyone at CY is amazing and whenever someone is away you feel as if they are missing. CY is an awesome family. Being encouraged, learning lots and enjoying every step of the way with this family, how could I not come to CY. What is one thing you have learnt at CY this year? I have learnt the epicness of God and who he is and seeing how I cannot define God with small human words. Looking into the I Am statements in John's Gospel and seeing how they show who God really is and how when we accept God into our lives, we see who we are in the eyes of God. But also seeing how in need we are of our heavenly father and what amazing gifts of grace are given to us, such as eternal satisfaction. But especially seeing the dramatic change from death to life through Jesus. |
